Gears of War is the bomb

If you don't have Gears of War, buy it, now. If you don't have an Xbox 360 to play Gears of War, buy a 360, now. If you can't afford it, sell any other consoles you may have, and get them. If you have no consoles left to sell, sell your PC. If you don't have a PC, how on earth are you reading this blog?:)

Disapointing reviews for {PS3, Wii} games

I have been checking out just about every PS3 and Wii game review, coming out from all major gaming sites for the past week. Except from Zelda, the Twilight Princess, all Wii games have scored really, really bad. The same goes for the PS3. Save for Resistance, fall of man and a golf game the reviewers gave them a verdict similar to the ones given for the Wii games. Granted, those are just the launch titles and things will probably get better, but still, it doesn't look good. The PS3, being a powerhouse and all, will no doubt catch up with the 360, at least in terms of interesting games, sooner or later. As for the Wii, if it wasn't for the ability to download classic games via the Virtual Console, I would have called it a flop. The controller is supposed to be the reason Wii exists after all. If the controller turns out to be a bad concept, Nintendo is going to have huge trouble ahead. In addition to that, graphics do matter. As more and more PS3 and 360 games hit the market, price drops for both of those consoles, developers learn how to take advantage of the functionality of those systems, Nintendo is going to be having an even harder time co-existing in the market. Time will tell. Personally, I am very very happy with my 360 purchase. ( 10 / 10 if I was to review it ). Chances are I may get the Wii but only because (1) its cheap (2) Zelda (3) virtual console. The PS3 is too expensive ( but way worth the money ) and won't be coming out until spring in the EU, so perhaps I 'll get it around summer.

Gaming ( again, and again )

Games for Windows Magazine hits newsstands : The only gaming magazine (offline) I read ( and love) is 'The Edge', but this seems interesting. Hopefully, the news agency I get my goodies from will begin importing it.

The Nintendo Wii launch event came and went smoothly in the US. I can't wait to get my hands on it, and the beloved Zelda when it becomes available in the US, at Dec 8th.
